Combat Colours is a division of John Perry Designs Inc, specializing in the creation and manufacturing of military themed items. John Perry, the owner and chief designer, comes from a varied background – one that includes aviation, armour and graphic design – each of which has contributed to the success of Combat Colours.

In his youth, John was an Air Cadet in England and had dreamed of joining the Royal Air Force. When his family moved to South Africa, this dream was put on hold. After completing his high school education, John studied Graphic Design in Durban and went on to become an Art Director with the international advertising agency BBDO.

While in South Africa, John fulfilled his military service in an armoured reconnaissance regiment and his lifelong interest in military history and armoured warfare was born.

When John moved to Canada, he joined the Canadian Army Reserves and served in the Queens Own Rifles of Canada, the Governor General’s Horse Guards, the 1st Hussars (RCAC), the British Columbia Regiment (Duke of Connaught’s Own), ending his career as the Deputy Commanding Officer of 39 Signal Regiment.
